- What AI features does Dentella offer dental clinics?
- Five, all live today: an AI Voice Scribe that drafts clinical notes and prescriptions from the chairside conversation; AI Case Records that propose case-sheet entries and treatments from that note; AI Reply Drafts in the patient chat; AI Self-Screening from guided kiosk photos; and AI Voice Check-in for spoken intake at the front-desk kiosk. Every output is a draft a human approves.
- Does Dentella use AI in case records?
- Yes. Once the scribe has drafted a note, Dentella proposes case-sheet entries from it: the chief complaint, diagnosis and findings, and the treatments that were discussed, matched to the clinic's own treatment list so an accepted treatment carries its configured price and GST into the plan. The dentist accepts or dismisses every entry individually; nothing is added to the case record automatically.
- Does the AI Voice Scribe work in Indian languages?
- Yes. The Premium engine transcribes Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati, Punjabi, Odia and English, including conversations that switch language mid-sentence, and it is tuned for Indian accents. The free tier uses your browser's on-device speech recognition, so language support there depends on the device.
- How much does Dentella's AI scribe cost?
- The free tier costs nothing and gives you a live transcript. The Premium tier is sold as a prepaid 30-hour pack for ₹1,999 plus GST — roughly ₹67 per audio-hour — with no monthly subscription. Packs are topped up online from the clinic portal.
- Can the AI write directly into a patient's record?
- No, by design. The scribe produces a draft note, a draft prescription and a case-sheet suggestion; the dentist reviews and saves them through the normal clinical-notes flow, which is immutable once committed. An ambient microphone can never put a diagnosis into a medical record on its own.
- Where is patient audio and data processed?
- In India. Speech-to-text and note generation use India-hosted speech and language models, and Dentella itself runs on AWS Mumbai. Audio is deleted after transcription; only the transcript and the drafts are kept, inside the clinic's own encrypted records. Dentella is built for India's DPDP Act 2023.
- Do I need special hardware for the AI scribe?
- No. It runs in the browser on the laptop, tablet or phone already at the chair, using its microphone. AI Self-Screening and AI Voice Check-in run on the clinic kiosk tablet; self-screening uses a standard cheek retractor.
- Is Dentella the same as Dentally?
- No. Dentella (dentella.app) is an Indian AI-powered dental platform made by Dentra Connect, Chennai. Dentally is an unrelated UK/Canada practice-management product. Dentella is also unrelated to dentella.qa (nightwear) and to the Dentella plant genus.
